Simple Problems On Projection of Points | VTU notes

Problem:1- Point A is 50mm above HP(Horizontal Plane)    and 60mm infront of VP(Vertical Plane)draw it's projection and name the quandrant in    which it lies.

Solution:

Steps:

1-- draw XY line 1st. Draw a line perpendicular to XY line on which the points are going to be lies.

2-- take a point a'(front view) 50 mm above XY line(reference line)

NOTE: point above HP means take the point above XY line.

3-- take a point a(top view) 60 mm below XY line(reference line).

NOTE: point infront of VP means take the point below XY line.

4-- mark the dimensions.

5--Since the point is above HP and      Infront of VP ,therefore the point is          lies on the first quadrant. In first quadrant the front view lies above XY line and top view lies below XY line.

Problem:2- Point A is 50mm above HP and 60mm behind VP draw it's projection and name the quandrant in which it lies.

Solution:

Steps:

1-- draw XY line 1st.Draw a line perpendicular to XY line on which the points are going to be lies.

2-- take a point a'(front view) 50 mm above XY line (reference line).

NOTE: point above HP means take the point above XY line.

3-- take a point a(top view)60 mm above XY line (reference line) on the same line on which the front view point i.e,. Point a' lies.

NOTE: point behind VP means take the point above XY line.

4-- mark the dimensions.

5--Since the point is above HP and behind VP ,therefore the point is lies on the second quadrant. In second quadrant the front view and the top view both lies above XY line.

SECOND QUANDRANT

Problem:3- Point A is 50mm below HP and 60mm behind VP draw it's projection and name the quandrant in which it lies.

Solution:

Steps:

1-- draw XY line 1st.Draw a line perpendicular to XY line on which the points are going to be lies.

2-- take a point a'(front view) 50 mm below XY line (reference line).

NOTE: point below HP means take the point below XY line.

3-- take a point a(top view)60 mm above XY line (reference line) on the same line on which the front view point i.e,. Point a' lies.

NOTE: point behind VP means take the point above XY line.

4-- mark the dimensions.

5--Since the point is below HP and behind VP ,therefore the point lies on the third quadrand . In third quadrand the front view lies below XY line and the top view lies above XY line.

THIRD QUADRANT

Problem:4- Point A is 50mm below HP and 60mm infront of VP draw it's projection and name the quandrant in which it lies.

Solution:

Steps:

1--draw XY line 1st.Draw a line perpendicular to XY line, on which the points are going to be lies.

2-- take a point a'(front view) 50 mm below XY line (reference line).

NOTE: point below HP means take the point below XY line.

3-- take a point a(top view)60 mm below XY line (reference line) on the same line on which the front view point i.e,. Point a' lies.

NOTE: point infront of VP means take the point below XY line.

4-- mark the dimensions.

5--Since the point is below HP and infront of VP ,therefore the point lies on the fourth quadrand . In fourth quadrand the front view and the top view both lies below XY line.

FOURTH QUANDRANT

Problem:5- The point A is on HP(Horizontal Plane) and 60mm infront of VP(Vertical Plane) .Draw it's projection.

Solution:

Steps:

1--draw XY line 1st.Draw a line perpendicular to XY line, on which the points are going to be lies.

2-- take a point a'(front view) on XY line (reference line).

NOTE: point is on HP means take the point on XY line.

3-- take a point a(top view)60 mm below XY line (reference line) on the same line on which the front view point i.e,. Point a' lies.

NOTE: point infront of VP means take the point below XY line.

4-- mark the dimensions.

Problem:6- The point A is on HP(Horizontal Plane) and 60mm behind VP(Vertical Plane) .Draw it's projection.

Solution:

Steps:

1--draw XY line 1st.Draw a line perpendicular to XY line, on which the points are going to be lies.

2-- take a point a'(front view) on XY line (reference line).

NOTE: point is on HP means take the point on XY line.

3-- take a point a(top view) 60 mm above XY line (reference line) on the same line on which the front view point i.e,. Point a' lies.

NOTE: point behind VP means take the point above XY line.

4-- mark the dimensions.

Problem:7- The point A is 60mm above HP(Horizontal Plane) and on the VP(Vertical Plane) .Draw it's projection.

Solution:

Steps:

1--draw XY line 1st.Draw a line perpendicular to XY line, on which the points are going to be lies.

2-- take a point a'(front view) 60mm above  XY line (reference line).

NOTE: point above HP means take the point above XY line.

3-- take a point a(top view) on XY line (reference line) on the same line on which the front view point i.e,. Point a' lies.

NOTE: point on the VP means take the point on the XY line.

4-- mark the dimensions.

Problem:8- The point A is 60mm below HP(Horizontal Plane) and on the VP(Vertical Plane) .Draw it's projection.

Solution:

Steps:

1--draw XY line 1st.Draw a line perpendicular to XY line, on which the points are going to be lies.

2-- take a point a'(front view) 60mm below XY line (reference line).

NOTE: point below HP means take the point below XY line.

3-- take a point a(top view) on XY line (reference line) on the same line on which the front view point i.e,. Point a' lies.

NOTE: point on the VP means take the point on the XY line.

4-- mark the dimensions.
